Living My Best Life
I’ve often thought about how I want to live my best life, and the picture that comes to mind is always the same: at least ten acres somewhere near a wooded area, where I could build a small three-bedroom home in the center.
The house would be a modern rustic farmhouse, painted a soft white, with a black and glass front door and copper sconces on either side. It would have large picture windows framed in black, and lots of wood pillars and accents. Inside, there would be wood beams and vaulted ceilings hovering above warm, cozy family areas with lots of seating. There would be a large kitchen with open wood shelving, a huge window above the sink, and a large island for prepping and cooking. The back side of the house would have a large open living room with bifold doors that opened all the way up to the outside.
On one side of the house would be a massive greenhouse filled with all sorts of vegetables such as tomatoes, green beans, bell peppers, and zucchini. This would provide protection from animals and the winter frost and allow for a longer growing period.
On the other side of the house, I would plant a beautiful flower garden with a recycling fountain, a pathway lined with lighting, and a comfy seating area with lots of cushions, where I would sit and read for hours, and just enjoy the outdoors.
The icing on the cake would be sitting in my garden with my husband, watching our dogs and our grandkids running around and playing, and just enjoying life.
